Our exhibition, NUNA (Inuktitut for “land”), immerses visitors in the sustainable methods, technology, and traditions of the Inuit (Indigenous Peoples of Alaska), as an example of how we can implement their practices into our daily lives.

Through stories and insights from Inuit communities, NUNA emphasizes the need for collective climate action to protect Arctic landscapes.

Exhibition Goals
Big Idea: The Inuit are a modern, living culture with great practices for living sustainably in arctic harmony. Fracking is destroying the land they live on, and creating irreversible effects regarding climate change.
Key Takeaway: To survive as a species, we must adapt to a more sustainable way of living. The Inuit are a great example of how we can accomplish this.

Spine: Focus on land / Sustainable ways of living (explored through clothing, communication, and hunting practices).

Callout: Highlighting Inuit Voices

We aim to collaborate with Inuit artists, curators, community members, and leaders through the Inuit Circumpolar Council and Inuit Art Foundation. Featured voices include Sheila Watt-Cloutier, Eleeshuse Parr, Victoria Kakuktinniq, Jerry Natanine, and Aqgaluk Lynge, among other Inuit members.
